Shooting buffalo for their wings
by John MacBeath Watkins
It occurs to me that cutting public jobs like schoolteachers and firemen with the promise to improve the economy and increase the number of jobs is like shooting buffalo for their wings.
If you want the buffalo dead, say you want to kill the buffalo, don't give us some fairy tale about vestigial wings, and how tasty they are in sauce. If you want wings, buy some chickens.
